Clients trust Matt to connect the issue or opportunity of the moment with their broader business goals, delivering comprehensive strategies that are both creative and data-driven. With 25 years of experience in strategic communications, Matt is known for caring as much about a client’s business as they do – and always grounding his work in the nuances and economics of each company and industry.
Matt’s expertise ranges from full-scale campaigns to brand strategy and messaging, executive positioning, thought leadership, stakeholder engagement, media relations and issues/reputation management – and he has proudly served clients in a wide variety of industries, including Independence Blue Cross, Comcast Spectacor, Aramark, Philadelphia Soccer 2026, Tandigm Health and Villanova University. Matt is also a sought-after reputation counselor, expertly advising on sensitive issues such as CEO transitions, data security breaches, health system negotiations, bankruptcy and more.
Inside the agency, Matt plays a leadership role with the same intentionality, foresight and creativity he brings to clients. Before he joined Brian Tierney for the launch of Brian Communications in 2010, Matt spent six years rising through the ranks at Tierney Communications (now Carmiachael Lynch), where he oversaw the public relations efforts for one of the agency’s largest clients. He’s also held positions at Comcast and Elizabethtown College.
Matt lives with his wife in Ardmore, Pa., where his strategic mindset is put to the test as father to their two teen sons.
