Paul Gerrard brings a wealth of corporate and consulting experience to the agency, drawing on over three decades of experience driving growth strategies and creating long-term value by protecting and enhancing brands and reputations. He has spent most of his career cutting through the complexities of highly regulated and socially significant industries including alcoholic beverages, energy, financial services and healthcare.
Most recently, he served as vice president of strategic communications at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), a national association of 36 independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross Blue Shield companies. He provided communications leadership to the BCBS System, which insures 107 million people – the largest in the country. Gerrard joined BCBSA from Humana Inc., where he served as director of corporate affairs, overseeing both internal and external communications.
A native of the United Kingdom, Gerrard began his career in European public relations, including serving as public affairs manager for Bass PLC, where he established and directed the FTSE100 corporation’s first coordinated international public affairs program.
Gerrard earned a bachelor’s degree in European Studies from the University of Kent. He has been named a Top 50 Health Influencer by PRWeek in 2017 and 2018, is a PRSA Silver Anvil recipient, a member of the Arthur W. Page Society, and has served on community and volunteer boards throughout his career.
